Welcome to the Giftsofstock.com site, where your host is The Moneypaper, Inc., publisher of The Moneypaper, Direct Investing, The DRP Authority, and the Guide to Direct Investment Plans (formerly the Guide to Dividend Reinvestment Plans).

In our publications, we focus on direct investment plans (DRIPs), plans that afford a means whereby even small investors can accumulate stock holdings by investing directly in companies, with no need for brokers or their commissions.

In 1986, The Moneypaper established a program to help its subscribers become enrolled in these plans. At that time, the program was called "Buy One Share"--so named because although most of the plans were open only to shareholders of the company, even one share would qualify a person as a shareholder. Originally, our DRIP enrollment service was available only to full-term subscribers to any of our publications. Then, in 1996, we expanded the service to accept orders from the general public.

Once enrolled in a plan, one can make even small, investments to buy stock directly, and in this manner accumulate substantial holdings over time. Indeed, since there are companies in virtually every industry that provide the direct investing option, our customers are able to establish well-diversified portfolios and continue to invest on a regular basis to build their stake in each company.

Inspired by the ease of building a sizable portfolio through direct investment plans, over the years, subscribers to The Moneypaper have requested that we implement a way for them to help their friends and family members also become enrolled in DRIPs. Thus, twice a year, generally in May and December, we have been offering a gift service to our subscribers. That service marks the beginning of what has evolved into this Giftsofstock site.
